The church at Ahuacatlan. Ahuac means avocado. tlan means Place of. Pretty valley. Pretty town. In the middle of the valley (probably 3 miles in width) and a little east of the town, right in the middle of the valley is a volcano cone. It erupted in 1879, from what I've read on -line.
Mirasol and Bin.
In the newer church in Ahuacatlan there was a spacious room not far inside of a room where a woman at a simple desk told me to go right in. Inside some glass fronted cabinets were many feet of ledgers of matrimonial records stretching back well into the 19th century. At the top of one stack, layed side-ways were some including these. I can't figure out what 'definicin..........in the very writing, my wife explained it. Defunciones. Deaths. The one in the middle is 1804 to 1825. The earlier one is thru 1802. Adams was President in 1802 ..I think.
Carlos took this. Over the wall on the back side of Tio Pedro's house.
At the ranch. Avacado trees.
The trail out of the ranch. Two steps back and it's 60 feet very straight down to the river. The dummy.
The front of the new house. I still think of it as new. It isn't finshed, so I guess it's still new. It may be new for a long time.
