SF Giant's celebration  parade.  At Pine and Montgomery.  I couldn't see much.  I left not too long after two floats, labeled 'Investment Department', and full of folks, went by.

Went between the wharf and the ship (Kobe Express -- only 225 meters) while three cranes were loading containers.  Very noisy.  In addition to the cool sound of the motors of the cranes as they raise and lower containers and move back and forth, the semis idling and  honking as they wait in line to have their containers lifted, the crash of said containers knocking and locking into place, longshoreman yelling above the din, there are alarms that go off intermittantly, which at one point scared the crap out of me.  It was low tide so I could hug the under side of the wharf and not venture out in the space between the wharf and ship, where someone could see me.  I didn't think they--the Port of Oakland folks, the ILWU guys, the ship guys, the Coast Guard and/or the Oakland Police Dept. and the Dept of Homeland Security (there are signs around the ferry docks that inform anyone approaching on the water-side that say "MARSEC1 In Force", --would be pleased.  More likely they wouldn't care less and give me a friendly wave.
